New Film Studios in Miami will bring Film and TV business back to Miami

The Miami Omni Community Redevelopment Agency will build a movie studio and related facilities in Miami. EUE/Screen Gems will lease the facilities for 10 years with renewal option to more nine years. The complex of 70,000 sq ft will be located in the city’s Media and Entertainment District at 50 NW 14th Street, Miami, Fla. It will be designed to serve major film productions, television series and independent filmmakers.

Currently, EUE/Screen Gems Studios owns and operates film and television production facilities in New York City, Atlanta, and Wilmington, N.C. The Wilmington studio is the largest production studio in the United States outside California, with 10 sound stages that encompass more than 150,000 square feet. The Atlanta studio offers 10 stages with 138,000 square feet of production and flex space. Together, they have hosted more than 370 scripted television shows.

Miami is a top destination for film and television production. The Studio will generate hundreds of jobs, directly and indirectly related to the film and entertainment industry.

It is great news for Real Estate investors, as it means rental opportunities for casting and film production individuals moving to the sunny city.

Completion is expected for the end of the Summer of 2015.
